Biographies – St. Petersburg Theatre Classical Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya

Performers:

Marina Medvetskaya - Marina Medvetskaya is currently the Artistic Director of the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet and a Choreographer and Senior Soloist as well. She is a former Leading Soloist with The Tblisi State and Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. She is a disciple of the world-famous ballet artist, Vakhtang Chaboukiani, and has danced all the lead roles in the classical repertoire. She has also worked with Alexander Plesetsky and performed the Role of “Black Bess” under the direction of Mikhael Lavrovsky. She was the guiding force in the creation of the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet in 1996, and was instrumental in preparing the Company for its Gold Medal victory at the Kaliningrad International Ballet Competition, “Amber Necklace” in 1998

Natalia Romanova - Natalia Romanova was born in Taganrog in 1976, and from 1986 to 1994, she attended the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, graduating from the Class of Dudinskaya. In 1994 she joined the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (The Maly). In 1998 she joined the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet. Her roles include Don Quixote, Swan Lake, The Flames of Paris, Diana and Acteon, Bayaderka, Corsar, Esmeralda and Venetian Carnaval. She has toured extensively inside Russia, as well as in Japan, South Korea,Finland, Norway, Greece, Germany and the US.


Nicholai Blankov - Nicholai Blankov was born in St. Petersburg in 1973, and attended the Vaganova Ballet Academy from 1984 to 1992, graduating from the class of K. Shatiov. From 1991 to 1998, he was a member of the St. Petersburg State and Academic Ballet Theatre of Askold Makarov, and in 1998, he joined the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet. His roles include Swan Lake, Le Corsair, and Giselle, and several modern works, among others. He has toured extensively in the former Republics of the USSR, in Europe and in the US.

Marina Melnikova - was born in St.Petersburg and entered the Vaganova Ballet Academy in 1991. Her senior teacher was Venera Gasimova. She went to work after graduation, with the St.Petersburg Ballet Theatre of Konstantine Tachkin, and subsequently, toured with that company in Europe, Australia, New Zeland and USA. Her roles include the Fairy Doll, The Pas de Trois from from Pachuita, La Sylphide, The Diamond, Beethoven, Classic Inspiration.

Eugenia Nazarova - Miss Nazarova began her training at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in 1995, and graduated in 2003 as the pupil of Kokorina. She was accepted, initially to the ST.Petersburg State and Academic Ballet Theatre. In 2004, she joined the ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya. Her roles includet Pakhita, Pas-de-Trois, Le Corseire, Diamond Ballet.Prior to this tour, she has traveled to Germany.

Dzabraev Rostislav - He was born in RSO-Alania in 1985 and began his training in 1992 at the Shool of Art. In 1999, He was accepted to the Ballet Academy named Nuriev in Ufa, and graduated in 2004. He was accepteted to the Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Ufa. In late 2004, he begin work in ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya. He has tour in the Republics of the Soviet Union and to Egypt. His roles include, Le Sylphide, Nutcracker, Don Qixot.

Gugasyan Markar - Mr.Gugasyan was born in Turkmenistan and in 1995 enrolled to the Ballet Academy in Ufa.after graduating in 2003. He was with Theatre of Ufa. In 2004 he traveled to Moskow and was accepted by The Kremlin Ballet. He begin work in ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya in 2004.Roles: Pas-de-trois from Swan Lake, Grand Pas-de-deux from Gizzele

Vorfolomeev Artur - Mr. Varfolomeev was born in Tashkent and went to the Ballet Academy named Nuriev in Ufa in 1995. He graduated in 2002, and went to work with The Ufa State Opera and Ballet Company. In late 2004, he begin work in ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya.He has toured in Europe, Egypt and China. His roles include, Le Sylphide, Nutcracker, Don Qixot, Le Corsaire and Gopak.


Alexeeva Svetlana - Miss Alekseeva was born in St.Petersburg and entered into the Ballet Academy named Nuriev in Ufa in 1991 and graduated in 2000. Before joining in ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya, she performed with Classic ballet Korolkov touring extensively to Germany, Japan, France, Italy, Spain and USA.

Bogomolov Igor - Mr. Bogomolov was born in St.Petersburg entered into The Vaganova Ballet Academy in 1996. He graduated in 2005 as the pupil of Seludskogo. After Academy he joined in ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya.

Novenkova Olga - Ms. Novenkova was born in Kazan and went to the Ballet Kazan Academy in 1991, graduatig in 2001, in the class of Davleeva. She performed with the Mareeskiy Theatre touring in Latin America, Brazil. She joined in ST.Petersburg Classic Ballet of Marina Medvetskaya in 2005.




Staff/Support:

Georgui Fedotov - Georgui Fedotov was born in Georgia in 1959. He was a disciple of Vakhtang Chaboukiani, and danced at the Tbilisi State and Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, and then later at the State Ballet in Sofia Bulgaria. Since 1998 he has been their Senior Stage Manager. He has toured extensively in the states of the former USSR, Europe and Scandinavia, as well as in the US.
